Strategy
Generation Interns™ is a three-year training program holding to a progressive training strategy, each year building upon the foundation of the previous year.

First Year - The first year is a time to lay foundations in the Word of God and successful Christian living. It is an opportunity to be exposed to a wide array of training experience within the local church. As a first year Intern, you will have the chance to participate in one of our many outreach teams.

Second Year - The second year builds upon the first with more specific teaching and increased leadership responsibility. As a second year Intern, you will be developing your leadership as a point person in one of our ministry tracks. You will also be assisting in the leadership of our outreach teams to one of our affiliate churches and ministries.

Ministry Apprenticeship - A Ministry Apprenticeship involves the placement and commissioning of our Interns into our network of affiliate ministries for continued training and leadership development. Generation Interns™ that are approved by the Board of Elders of The City Church™ will be sent to satellite churches, partnering ministries within the United States and various international locations. You will be used to strengthen our churches and in some cases assist in the establishment of affiliate Internships.

Credit Courses - The core classes offered at Generation Interns™ are through CLTI (Church Leadership Training Institute), the extension-school of Portland Bible College. PBC has been granted exempt status by the state of Oregon to be able to offer religious degrees. These credits may be transferable for Interns desiring to further their education. Transcripts and further inquiries on courses or coursework can be made directly with the CLTI office in Portland, Oregon (503) 255-3540. We are presently working with local colleges regarding the direct transfer of credits toward a degree program.
